Nutella is a household favorite but with sugar being the main ingredient we decided to come up with a healthy alternative. This spread is super easy to make and much less sinful. It's great on top of our buckwheat pancakes, cookies, banana bread or just enjoy a sneaky spoon by itself.

  • 100g roasted hazelnuts
  • 1.5 TBSP unsweetened cacao powder
  • 1.5 TBSP maple syrup
  • 2 TBSP coconut or hazelnut milk

  • In a food processor blitz your hazelnuts to a smooth paste - you can do this with or without the skin on. This will give you hazelnut butter which is great on its own as well.
  • Add the remaining ingredients and process until you form a smooth and creamy spread.
  • Store in an airtight jar or container and keep in the fridge.

*Sometimes nut butters can split if an ingredient has too much water in it. Add a bit of the creamy top of the coconut milk/cream or coconut oil to get it back to a smooth paste.
