Our freezer is stuffed with lots of colourful fruit and veggies so we always have the option of making a quick and healthy smoothie. The combo of frozen bananas and avocado keeps you full and adds the creamiest texture — it's almost like a milkshake!
Homemade smoothies are one of our favourite ways of reaching our 7-a-day. They also help to satisfy our sweet tooth and stop us always reaching for chocolate! Green smoothies scare a lot of people (yep, some taste like crap!). But trust us, you won't even notice the taste of spinach in this recipe. Spinach is one of our favourite green veggies as it's full of nutrients like vitamins A,C & K. It's also antioxidant-packed and a good veggie source of iron. So many people are iron deficient so blending it into smoothies is a really easy way to up your intake. Plus the avocados and bananas are both excellent sources of potassium, one of the reasons these ingredients are our go-to after a workout. Get blending!
